Summer/Fall 2024, Engeneering City, Yerevan, Armenia
Art :: Tech CYLAND is a new educational initiative of the CYLAND MediaArtLab. It is designed for residents of the Engineering City, a hi-tech cluster that, in recent years, has transformed the northeast of Yerevan into a booming hub of internationally sought-after skills.
The interdisciplinary project-based program explores possible collaborations between artists and engineers and the ways in which technologies can be used, reappropriated, or reinvented to create media art.
The program consists of lectures and workshops where CYLAND’s artists, curators, and engineers share their knowledge, creativity, practical skills, and professional insights while giving an overview of successful historical interactions between art, science, and technology.
During the program, the participants will apply their acquired knowledge and skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to the technical development of Anna Frants's installation. The results will also be documented in a paper published later this year.
Art :: Tech CYLAND lecturers include Philipp Avetisov, Alexandra Dementieva, Alexey Grachev, Anna Frants, and Natalia Kolodzei.
