It is true that Dionysius I did not end well: he was poisoned, and his son Dionysius II ascended the throne. The tyrant’s apprehension was not groundless. Could it be that paranoia starts when ‘on the lookout’ and ‘apprehension’ take up residence in the same body? Where does madness start and non-madness end?
