Video performance, 00:02:52
The video performance Chorus is an attempt to visualize the contradictory nature of collective artistic work. Four people each sing their own song. But they are inaudible. Externally, it is a collective action, but in fact each one is occupied with himself. None of the performers can hear the others, yet each is confident that they are singing in unison. The soundtrack is the noise of audience members taking their seats. When the final performer completes his melody, thunderous applause is heard.
A dark box-like room allows four people at a time to enter for a séance lasting 2:52 minutes. The front wall of the box is painted pink, with a text by the artists reflecting on their actions. (Valeriy Ayzenberg)
