CYLAND Takes Part in Geek Picnic 2016 in St. Petersburg

CYLAND MediaArtLab continued its participation in Geek Picnic, the biggest science, technology, and art festival in Russia. Alexandra Dementieva, Daniil Frants, Sergey Komarov, and Alexey Grachev presented their work on June 25, 2016 in St. Petersburg.

Daniil Frants spoke on how creative technology can impact the modern life. Aside from being the youngest CYLAND MediaArtLab artist, Frants has already received “Young Innovators to Watch” Award, and his assistive technology project for the hearing impaired has been featured at the Jimmy Fallon’s Show.

Alexandra Dementieva’s ‘Stalker’, new media installation produced with CYLAND MediaArtLab, visualized dreams by some creative coding and hardware hacking.

‘Subjectivization of Sound’, CYLAND artists’ Alexey Grachev and Sergey Komarov live performance combined digital and analog sound synthesis technologies in order to achieve a sound minimalism and a continuity of creative process during the creation of musical compositions and forms where the choice comes down to the subjective tendency of each one to a certain sounding.

CYLAND collaborators Tatiana Ahmetgalieva, Andrey Bartenev, and Sasha Frolova also presented their work in Art Zone of Geek Picnic, St. Petersburg during the event.
