CYLAND Hosted a Talk on Music, Semiotics and Performance

On January 21, 2016 CYLAND MediaArtLab hosted an interesting talk on music, semiotics and performance with Dmitry Shubin at the White Hall of the Taiga Space in St. Petersburg.

Dmitry Shubin is a well-known pianist and improviser, performing live improvised music. He also creates sound installations and audio-video projects with emphasis on the integration of sound and image. He is a founder and conductor of St.Petersburg Improvisers Orchestra, as well as St.Petersburg Improvisers Choir; curator of the School of Improvised Music (St.Petersburg).

His main fields of interests, which were discussed during the presentation, include contemporary piano music, electroacoustics, new improvised music, conducted improvisation, graphic notations.

On February 5, 2016 Dmitry Shubin with support from CYLAND MediaArtLab will present Gadgetophonia, an experimental orchestra of live electronics.
