CYLAND and Spina!Rec Organized Experimental AV Workshop in St. Petersburg

On September 14, 2016 CYLAND MediaArtLab together with Spina!Rec organized audio-visual workshop with prominent Russian experimental artists and musicians at the White Hall of the TAIGA Space.

Alexey Borisov, Sergei Filatov, Sergei Kostyrko, and Yuri Gorbachevsky all work at the intersection of music and visuals. During the workshop the artists shared their experience with the participants that includes installation art, experimental sound instruments and audio devices. Sergey Kostyrko improvisd on modular synthesizer, and Yuri Gorbachevsky created generative visuals in real time.

Spina!Rec is an independent record-label from St. Petersburg, Russia, originally established by participants of creative association“Spina” and created for publication and distribution records of their projects, friendly bands and artists from the world underground.

In 2015 CYLAND MediaArtLab team has introduced a course of lectures and workshops on art and technology at the TAIGA Space in St. Petersburg. Since then their popularity gave us confidence in providing an educational platform to share thoughts and gain experience from artists, critics, curators, coders, engineers and media activists.
